The difficulty level of CAT 2013 has been on a very higher note this year with questions in some slots being extremely tedious and complicated. This year's CAT has been mostly comprised of questions of those areas in which most of the students find themselves weak such as Functions, Inequalities etc.
Even when it comes to the second section there has been no respite for test takers as the level of Section 2 has also been very high. Whether it is Logical Reasoning Case lets or RC passages students have found themselves struggling.
Now today is 1st of November and from now on the number of students who are appearing across slots are going to increase day by day and now almost full packed slots are expected to be seen across the centers all over India. Most of the students prefer taking CAT in last 2 weeks slots as this gives them an extra 10 to 15 days for preparation and also helps them make their-selves comfortable and adjustable to the sort of questions they are going to encounter in the paper. By this time they would have read a whole lot of reviews about the difficulty level, would have consulted their friends and would have got to know about some sample questions of the real CAT. But it is important that when you are going to appear in your real CAT you should not allow any preconceived ideas to decide your strategy of attempting the number of questions in real CAT. The number of questions that you need to attempt in your real CAT 2013 should solely depend on the difficulty level of your slot paper and on your knowledge level. It would be better if you do not rely on any kind of guesses in your real CAT 2013 Exam if you are serious about qualifying it. ALL THE BEST !!!!
CAT 2013 Analysis of 1st November - Day 14 - Section 1
Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation
The paper was as usual tough. We will not say this paper to be one of the toughest but it was tough. The questions were mostly from Higher Mathematics topics. Around 4 questions of functions and geometry were there in the paper and the Data Interpretation Case-lets were calculation intensive.
Any attempts in the range of 18 to 23 will be said to be very good and anything more than that excellent if accuracy has been maintained by you. If you have attempted 19 questions correct with 2 wrong you will be able to score more than 99 percentile in this section.
CAT 2013 Analysis of 1st November - Day 14 - Section 2
Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning
The Logical Reasoning Case-lets were moderately tough. They were very complex in appearance and one of the Case-lets was tedious and time taking. The Logical Reasoning questions according to me are the decider when it comes to tackle the second section of CAT as if we are able to solve them it increases our confidence tremendously because we are sure that what we have attempted is correct and when LR questions are right it gives us a mental advantage while attempting English Section questions. Where as if LR questions go wrong it decreases our confidence drastically which ultimately can effect our performance of the English Section.
Any attempts in the range of 22 to 25 with not more than 3 or 4 wrong can be considered to be very good and can get you percentiles in the range of 95 to 99 +.
