This Audio Lecture will in detail tell you about the provisions that were implemented through the Indian Council of 1892. It was in continuance of the Indian Council Act of 1861. More decentralization was done through this Act in order to embed the Indians more in the administrative process of their country. This Audio tutorial is of 7 minutes in which I have told in detail the provisions that were implemented through this Indian Council Act of 1892.
2. Functions, Authorities and Powers of the Legislative Council were increased. The Councils were given the power to discuss the budget and also were given the power to ask questions to the Executive.
3. Viceroy nominated some Non-Official members to the Legislative Council on the recommendation of the Bengal Chamber of commerce and the Provincial Legislative Council.
4. Governor nominated some Non-Official members to the Provincial Legislative Council on the recommendation of trade association, local district boards, municipalities and universities.
The important provisions of the Indian Council Act of 1892 -
1. The strength of the non-official members of the Central Legislative Council and Provincial Legislative Council were increased but the majority of the official members were maintained in councils both at the Central and Provincial Councils.2.
